1 Corinthians

Chapter 3

1 SO I, my brethren, could not converse with you as with spiritual men, but as with worldly men and even as with little children in Christ.

2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto you were unable to eat it, and even now you are not ready for it;

3 Because you are still worldly: for as long as there is among you envying and strife and divisions, are you not worldly and still following after the material things?

4 For while one says, I am a follower of Paul; and another, I am a follower of Apollos; are you not worldly?

5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you were converted; each one is gifted according as the LORD gave to him.

6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

7 So then neither he who plants, nor he who waters deserves the credit; but God who gives the increase.

8 Thus the planter and the waterer are equal: and each one shall receive his own wages according to his own labor.

9 For we work together with God: you are God's work and God's building.

10 According to the grace of God which is given to me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds upon it. But let every man be careful how he builds thereon.

11 For other foundation can no man lay than that which is already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12 Now if any man build on this foundation gold, silver, or precious stones, or wood, or hay, or stubble;

13 Every man's work shall be plainly seen: for the light of day shall expose it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall test every man's work and show of what sort it is.

14 And the builder whose work survives shall receive his reward.

15 And the one whose work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be rescued, even as one who has been saved from the fire.

16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

17 And whoever defiles the temple of God, God will destroy; for the temple of God is holy, and that temple is you.

18 Let no man deceive himself. Whoever among you thinks he is wise in this world, let him consider himself a fool so that he may become wise.

19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, He catches the wise in their own craftiness.

20 And again, The LORD knows that the thoughts of the wise are vain.

21 Therefore, let no man boast about men. For all things are yours;

22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all things are yours;

23 And you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

Chapter 3

1 And I, brothers,80 could1410 not speak2980 to you as to spiritual,4152 but as to carnal,4559 even as to babes3516 in Christ.5547

2 I have2192 fed4222 you with milk,1051 and not with meat:1033 for till now3768 you were not able1410 to bear it, neither235 3777 yet2089 now3568 are you able.1410

3 For you are yet2089 carnal:4559 for whereas3699 there is among1722 you envying,2205 and strife,2054 and divisions,1370 are you not carnal,4559 and walk4043 as men?444

4 For while3752 one5100 said,3004 I am1510 of Paul; and another,2087 I am of Apollos;625 are you not carnal?4559

5 Who5101 then3767 is Paul, and who5101 is Apollos,625 but ministers1249 by whom3739 you believed,4100 even2532 as the Lord2962 gave1325 to every1538 man?

6 I have2192 planted,5452 Apollos625 watered;4222 but God2316 gave the increase.837

7 So5620 then neither3777 is he that plants5452 any5100 thing, neither3777 he that waters;4222 but God2316 that gives the increase.837

8 Now1161 he that plants5452 and he that waters4222 are one:1520 and every1538 man shall receive2983 his own2398 reward3408 according2596 to his own2398 labor.2873

9 For we are laborers4904 together4904 with God:2316 you are God's2316 husbandry,1091 you are God's2316 building.3619

10 According2596 to the grace5485 of God2316 which3588 is given1325 to me, as a wise4680 master builder,753 I have2192 laid5087 the foundation,2310 and another243 builds2026 thereon.2026 But let every1538 man take heed991 how4459 he builds2026 thereupon.2026

11 For other243 foundation2310 can1410 no3762 man3762 lay5087 than3844 that is laid,5087 which3739 is Jesus2424 Christ.5547

12 Now1161 if1487 any5100 man build2026 on this5126 foundation2310 gold,5557 silver,696 precious5093 stones,3037 wood,3586 hay,5528 stubble;2562

13 Every1538 man's work2041 shall be made1096 manifest:5318 for the day2250 shall declare1213 it, because3754 it shall be revealed601 by fire;4442 and the fire4442 shall try1381 every1538 man's work2041 of what3697 sort3697 it is.

14 If1487 any1536 man's work2041 abide3306 which3739 he has built2026 thereupon,2026 he shall receive2983 a reward.3408

15 If1487 any1536 man's work2041 shall be burned,2618 he shall suffer2210 loss:2210 but he himself846 shall be saved;4982 yet1161 so3779 as by fire.4442

16 Know1492 you not that you are the temple3485 of God,2316 and that the Spirit4151 of God2316 dwells3611 in you?

17 If1487 any1536 man defile5351 the temple3485 of God,2316 him shall God2316 destroy;5351 for the temple3485 of God2316 is holy,40 which3748 temple you are.

18 Let no3367 man3367 deceive1818 himself.1438 If1487 any1536 man among1722 you seems1380 to be wise4680 in this5129 world,165 let him become1096 a fool,3474 that he may be wise.4680

19 For the wisdom4678 of this5127 world2889 is foolishness3472 with God.2316 For it is written,1125 He takes1405 the wise4680 in their own craftiness.3834

20 And again,3825 The Lord2962 knows1097 the thoughts1261 of the wise,4680 that they are vain.3152

21 Therefore5620 let no3367 man3367 glory2744 in men.444 For all3956 things are your's;5216

22 Whether1535 Paul, or1535 Apollos,625 or1535 Cephas,2786 or1535 the world,2889 or1535 life,2222 or1535 death,2288 or1535 things present,1764 or1535 things to come;3195 all3956 are your's;5216

23 And you are Christ's;5547 and Christ5547 is God's.2316
